The brief
Anyone planning an online shop wants to see what good ones look like, and what they are built with. Design galleries show the screenshots but rarely the stack. We wanted one place that shows both.
What we did
Everything. The design, the build and the SEO. Every shop has its own page with desktop and mobile screenshots, a short summary, tags and the platform it runs on. Every platform and every tool gets a page that lists the shops using it, so a visitor can go from a shop to its stack and back.
The screenshots are real captures. A script opens each shop in a headless browser, closes cookie banners and newsletter pop-ups, and saves desktop and mobile shots. When a shop is gone, it falls back to the Internet Archive, so the gallery keeps the design that was collected.
How it went
eCommerce Lover started in December 2022 as a SvelteKit site on Firebase and Vercel. In 2026 we moved it to Cloudflare Workers with a D1 database and rendered an Open Graph card for every page at build time. It is where we test ideas for programmatic SEO before we suggest them to clients.
